Your Bio

I have been a travel writer and photographer for more than ten years, taking photographs mainly in Asia. In 2001 I travelled the Silk Road for ten months, visiting China, the Stans, Central Asia and Europe. I spent eight years living in Japan but am now based in Melbourne, Australia.

I began my photographic career as a darkroom technician and in-house fine art photographer for Bonhams antique auction house in London. I held my first solo exhibition in Japan, Images of the Silk Road, in April 2003, and my second, Faces of the Silk Road, in May 2004. As a member of the Kansai International Photographers' Association, I have taken part in four group exhibitions in Japan, PEACEworks, (November and December 2005), SLOW, (June 2006), PEACEworks 2 (October 2007) and PEACEworks 3 (August 2008). I had my first solo Australian exhibition at the Japanese Consulate in Melbourne, May 2009.
